Social Program & Excursions
We are delighted to invite all ICSOB 2025 participants to explore Stuttgart beyond the academic sessions. Our social program combines inspiring visits to cutting-edge research facilities with opportunities to connect and enjoy local culture.
Excursions (Tuesday, November 26)
Three parallel excursions will take place on Thursday afternoon. Please note the different departure times and locations:
Excursion 1: IBM Research – Quantum Computing
Departure: 16:15 (earlier bus)
Get an exclusive insight into the future of computing at IBM’s research facility, where the team works on quantum computing technologies and their real-world applications.

Excursion 2: Computer Museum Stuttgart
Departure: 17:30
Experience the evolution of computing — from the first mainframes to modern personal computers — at Stuttgart’s renowned Computer Museum, located on the campus of the University of Stuttgart.

Excursion 3: ARENA2036 Innovation Campus
Departure: 17:30
Discover one of Europe’s leading research platforms for the mobility and production of the future. ARENA2036 brings together academia and industry to shape innovative solutions for the factory of tomorrow.

Welcome Reception (Monday, November 24, 18:00 – 20:30)
Location: Markthalle Stuttgart (Empore restaurant balcony, 1st floor)
Enjoy a relaxed start to ICSOB 2025 in one of Stuttgart’s most iconic architectural landmarks, surrounded by local specialties and great company.
Conference Dinner, Entertaining Keynote & Awards (Tuesday, November 25, 19:00 – 23:00 – after the excursions)
Location: Leonhardts Restaurant, at the foot of the world-famous Stuttgart TV Tower – the first of its kind!
Join us for an inspiring evening with dinner, entertaining keynote, award ceremony, and the opportunity to see Stuttgart at night.
